Dowell Lashmet is a Professor and Extension Specialist in Agricultural Law with Texas A&amp;M AgriLife Extension. She focuses her work on legal issues affecting Texas agricultural producers and landowners. She serves the State Bar of Texas John Huffaker Agricultural Law Course Planning Committee and previously sat on the Board of Directors for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aglaw-assn.org\/\">American Agricultural Law Association<\/a>.\u00a0 Tiffany may be contacted via email at <a href=\"mailto:tdowell@tamu.edu\">tdowell@tamu.edu<\/a> or by phone at 806-677-5681.<\/p>\n<p>Tiffany grew up on a family farm and ranch in Eastern New Mexico, received her Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness (Farm and Ranch Management) <em>summa cum laude<\/em>\u00a0at Oklahoma State University, and her law degree <em>summa cum laude<\/em> at the University of New Mexico. Prior to joining Texas A&amp;M AgriLife Extension, Tiffany worked for four years at a law firm in Albuquerque practicing civil litigation. She is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and Texas. \u00a0She lives in the Texas Panhandle with her husband, son, and daughter.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This blog has been named one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanbar.org\/\">American Bar Association<\/a> Top 100 &#8220;Blawgs&#8221; three years (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/blawg100\/archived\/2014\/\">2014<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/magazine\/article\/the_9th_annual_blawg_100\">2015<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abajournal.com\/magazine\/article\/10th_annual_blawg_100\">2016<\/a>).\u00a0 In 2016, Tiffany was named the State Specialist of the Year for Texas Agriculture by the <a href=\"https:\/\/tcaaa.tamu.edu\/\">Texas County Agricultural Agents Association<\/a>.\u00a0 In 2019, Tiffany received the Excellence in Agricultural Law Award from the American Agricultural Law
