The Texas A&M Biodiversity Research and Teaching Collections is curated by staff and faculty of the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology and is one of several important natural history collections within the Texas A&M system. The collections at the BRTC are comprised of preserved specimens of fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, parasites, and marine invertebrates that are available for use by the scientific community. As a resource for the Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology at Texas A&M University, collegiate level laboratory courses are hosted on-site including Natural History of the Vertebrates, Ichthyology, Herpetology, Ornithology and Mammalogy. In addition, we partner with courses outside the department to provide specimens that enhance the student’s learning experience.
