Normalmente, cuando se ven los pulgones desde arriba, tienen una forma ovalada. Los pulgones tienen piernas delgadas y antenas que extienden casi la largura de su cuerpo. Todos los pulgones tienen dos ap\u00e9ndices cerca del extremo de su abdomen que se llaman los corn\u00edculos. Dado que los pulgones son tan peque\u00f1os, muchas personas temen intentar identificarlos. Para facilitar la identificaci\u00f3n, es muy \u00fatil usar una lupa de mano. Cu\u00e1ndo intente identificar los pulgones es importante enfocarse en los adultos grandes sin alas. Muchas veces, ciertas partes de los pulgones pueden fundirse con el color de las hojas del sorgo. Para verlos mejor, traslade unos cuantos pulgones de las hojas a una superficie m\u00e1s blanca, tal como una u\u00f1a de los dedos. Hay cuatro especies de pulgones comunes que se alimentan del sorgo. Para recordar la manera de identificar los pulgones amarillos creamos una frase para ayudar. \u201cEl verdadero nombre del pulg\u00f3n amarillo es PACO\u201d. Puede sonar raro o un poco chistoso, pero memor\u00edcelo.
