Wildlife management attempts to balance the needs of wildlife with the needs of humans using the best available science. It has become an integrated science using disciplines such as mathematics, chemistry, biology, ecology, climatology and geography to gain the best results.
Texas A&M AgriLife Research partners with other programs to obtain the necessary knowledge of management practices that promote sustainable populations of wildlife species and factors influencing their ecology and population dynamics.
Research programs promote sustainable wildlife populations, including game, nongame and endangered species through impact assessments, demographic and spatial modeling and monitoring protocols. Some programs also work to solve problems with policy innovations concerning threatened and endangered species.
