Here you will find basic teaching resources for delivery of Quality Counts, including the original Curricula.
Updated Quality Counts Curriculum
This curriculum, targeted to 4-H and FFA members, teaches young people the importance of good character and ethical behavior in caring for and exhibiting animals. Many youth livestock projects enter the food supply, so quality assurance is the responsibility of these young people and the adults who work with them. The “Quality Counts” curriculum contains a wealth of lesson plans, teaching materials, handouts and images. PowerPoint images and handouts are also included on the companion CD. (175 pp.)
Quality Counts Program – Activity Resource Guide
This new Quality Counts Resource Guide provides some of these activities. In addition, this guide provides some example news releases and a sample evaluation to implement after the lessons are taught.
Quality Counts Gold
The “Quality Counts–Gold” curriculum helps adults who implement the Quality Counts program with 4-H and FFA members become better volunteer leaders. This program focuses on quality assurance in raising livestock and on character education for those who exhibit animals. “Quality Counts–Gold” provides the background, theory, resources and tools needed to work with young people on livestock projects. The accompanying CD contains PowerPoint programs for teaching adult leaders. (114 pp.)
Quality Counts Exhibitor Card
This exhibitor card identifies young livestock exhibitors as participants in the Quality Counts! program. The card is printed with a leather-style background on heavy card stock. It features the 4-H clover and the FFA logo, as well as the logo of the corporate sponsor who provided funds for printing the cards.
