David Saunders

David A. Saunders received his degree in Economic Entomology from Texas A&M University in 1978 after receiving his degree in Wildlife Ecology from Texas A&M University in 1977. He is currently the technical specialist in Terminix’s Southwest Division, servicing East Texas , Southern, and Bayou regions which includes East Texas branches, Louisiana and Mississippi.  He is currently licensed to do pest control work in Louisiana as a licensee in the categories of Pest, Termite, Commercial Vertebrate, Structural Fumigation, and Commodity Fumigation.  In Texas he is a certified applicator holding the categories of Pest, Termite, Weed Control, Lawn and Ornamental, Structural Fumigation, and Commodity Fumigation. In Mississippi he is a licensee with the categories of Termites and Other structural pests, Homes Businesses and Industries, and Fumigation.

David has taught the State approved Apprentice technician training course for new operational employees in Texas to qualify to take their state technician license tests.  He also has a course approved by the state to train IPM coordinators in public schools, which has been done to secure various school districts business.  He reviewed and updated the Wood Boring Beetle Chapter in the Mallis Handbook of Pest Control for the 10th edition.

He also has done product testing under experimental use labels for various manufacturers.  He is on call for pest identification, troubleshooting pest problems and termite problems, establishing treatment guidelines for various large commercial specialty accounts.  He is also charged with doing the initial training of all new personnel in his regions as well as teaches several state approved courses required for state licensing in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
