This site is devoted to helping educators with “how-to” information in planning and implementing an “On the Road to Healthy Living” Mobile Cooking School. We are fortunate in Montgomery County to have a great relationship with the local United Way who provided funds to allow us to teach practical, economic cooking skills to area residents with a special focus on hard-to reach areas and audiences. As the program success grew and additional funding was granted, a promised deliverable included a guide or a curriculum to help others replicate the program and success. Why should we have all of the fun, right?!?! So, we began developing a document to give some detailed information. When working with AgCom, we decided we were developing more of an instructor’s guide than a curriculum. As an Extension agent, I wanted a curriculum that could stay fresh and cutting edge while being flexible yet structured enough to provide reliable results. This is what we came up with!
