Rice stink bugs can be very damaging to sorghum at bloom and their damage lessens at the crop matures. <a href=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/mid-coast-ipm\/files\/2023\/06\/Sorghum-SB-ET.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-2262\" src=\"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/mid-coast-ipm\/files\/2023\/06\/Sorghum-SB-ET-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-wp-editing=\"1\"><strong>Scouting:<\/strong> Grain-head-feeding bugs tend to congregate on grain sorghum heads and are often clumped in distribution, most often along the field margins. The beat-bucket technique is the most efficient way to sample for grain-feeding bugs. You can watch a brief video demonstrating how to scout with a bucket <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kEmNfkId3Es#action=share\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n<p data-wp-editing=\"1\"><strong>Threshold<\/strong>: For purposes of sampling and computing, thresholds for stink bugs and leaf-footed bugs can be\u00a0 combined into a single count. The economic thresholds are dependent upon the stage of grain development.
