Frittatas, omelets, and quiche are all tasty egg dishes that are easily confused. Here are some tips to help differentiate between the three.
Frittatas usually include ingredients such as meats, cheeses, vegetables, or pasta and are made with fried beaten eggs and can resemble a Spanish omelet. Frittatas are generally thicker than omelets, the ingredients are mixed in instead of sprinkled on, and while started on the stove, frittatas get finished under the broiler in the oven. For service, frittatas and quiche are sliced like pie and served either warm or at room temperature whereas an omelet is served warm/hot. In an omelet the ingredients are mixed all together and a quiche is a custard baked in a pastry crust, or as in a potato crust and the ingredients are sprinkled in. The main difference with a quiche, unlike omelets and frittatas is that it contains a dairy component in the egg mixture.

Hope this article helps to clear up the confusion on the three great dishes!
