SUMMARY:Model and Straw Rocket Contest
DESCRIPTION:Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at our model rocketry workshop and contest. You can enroll at the following link and you can participate in the contest or workshop or both. https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/blast-off-with-fort-bend-county \nFort Bend County is hosting a model rocketry workshop on Saturday\, October 25th at Jones Creek Ranch Park near Katy/Fulshear from 10am to 2pm. The workshop will focus on beginning model rocketry\, but we will also learn about straw and water bottle rockets. Each workshop participant will receive a beginner model rocket to build during the workshop and motors for 2 flights as well as all of the building materials. Agents\, 4-H volunteers\, and youth are encouraged to participate. The Model Rocket Workshop is $50/participant and will be at Jones Creek Ranch Park Lodge\, 7714 FM359\, Richmond\, TX 77406. You do not have to participate in the contest the following weekend\, but we hope you will. You do not have to live in Fort Bend County or be in 4-H to attend. \nThe following Saturday\, November 1st\, we will host an inaugural model and straw rocket contest at Long Acres Ranch near Rosenberg. You do not have to live in Fort Bend County or be in 4-H to attend. The cost is $25 for the model rocket contest and $10 for the straw rocket contest. You do not have to participate in the workshop to compete. The contest is open to youth ages 5-19 and the rules are here.  You can bring your own launcher or use the rod launchers provided at the contest. All participants and spectators must complete the Long Acres Ranch waiver to access the site. \n
