  • Will control ants only within a few feet of where applied

Active Ingredient: 0.88% hydramethylnon

Similar Products: Any with hydramethylnon (Amdro, Amdro Pro, Pro etc.)

Application Rate, Broadcast: 4 oz. per 180 linear feet in 1-foot band

Speed of Control: relatively fast, 2-6 weeks

Duration of Control: varies with reinvasion pressure

Approximate Cost: depends on perimeter of structure

Best used for: Homeowner application around structures

Best season for application: Whenever ants are foraging for food, particularly effective in late summer and fall

Sources: Retail outlets, garden centers and agricultural suppliers

Toxicity: very low; may be toxic to animals if very large quantities are consumed

Agricultural Uses:  On grounds surrounding poultry houses (excluding runs and ranges), corrals and other animal holding area.  For other agriculture uses see the Extinguish® Plus product.

Mixing with other products: Not advisable

General Comments: This product was developed for the consumer market to help prevent ant invasion of structures and has a unique band application method. The product provides no true residual control, but should eliminate colonies within foraging distance of the bait band (estimated up to 30 feet).
