We strive to form deep and long-term relationships with alumni, donors and potential partners that ensure growth and support for our college and agencies. Want to know more about our awards, alumni relations, and donor relations programs? Contact Angel Futrell at afutrell@tamu.edu.
Alumni Relations: The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ alumni relations division connects our former students and stakeholders to promote advocacy for our teaching, research and extension missions. Below are helpful first steps for connecting with our former students.
- Update information: Encourage former students to update their Aggie Network accounts – tx.ag/AGLSaggienetwork – with current contact information, including email address, phone number, and mailing address. Our mailing/emailing lists are only as good as the records we pull from the Association of Former Students, so it is important that we keep contact information as up to date as possible.
- Get connected: Each academic department within the College has the capability to email its former students through an email service shared by the Texas A&M Foundation and the Association of Former Students. This email service is best used for newsletter, annual updates, and invitations to departmental events. Contact Angel Futrell at afutrell@tamu.edu to find out more about getting access and available training.
- Get involved: The College of Agriculture Development Council is a great way for former students to become engaged with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, support students through scholarships and organizational grants, and network with other former students and industry professionals.
- Host an event: Whether it be a reception at a national meeting, a regional networking happy hour, or a weekend of activities, inviting your former students to attend a face-to-face event helps to engage alumni, friends, and donors. One idea, to keep financial obligations low, is to piggyback off of an established event, such as the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences annual tailgate. Learn more about hosting events here.
Donor Relations: Texas A&M AgriLife is committed to leading by example in educating our future leaders and conducting world-changing research. Now, more than ever, our donors play a crucial role in accomplishing this endeavor. It is of utmost importance that this support not go unnoticed. The goal of our stewardship program is to nurture lifelong relationships that connect donors to the College in meaningful ways, to communicate the impact of giving to our donors, and to be intentional and proactive in our connections with donors. We ensure that donors are glad they gave.
Working closely with the Texas A&M Foundation AgriLife Office, we support major gift and endowed funds to enhance the academic excellence and Aggie spirit of Texas A&M University.
Special Gifts and Visitors: If you have special guests, lecturers or dignitaries visiting, please let us know! We may be able to help with gifts, arrangements or adding your event to the Vice Chancellor’s calendar.
Alumni Awards: What better way to show support for your former students and donors than by nominating them for an outstanding alumni or early career alumni award. Each year, the College recognizes graduates of our college for outstanding leadership and significant contributions in agriculture, natural resources, life sciences, and related areas. The nomination period opens in late spring and closes in early summer with the awards being presented in the fall at our annual Legacy and Leadership Banquet. More information can be found here.
