{"id":2654,"date":"2021-04-12T13:19:22","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T18:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/d3adminservices\/?page_id=2654"},"modified":"2021-04-12T13:19:22","modified_gmt":"2021-04-12T18:19:22","slug":"d-3-extension-dress-code","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/d3adminservices\/procedures-and-other-forms\/d-3-extension-dress-code\/","title":{"rendered":"D-3 Extension Dress Code"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>District 3 Expectations for Dress &amp; Conduct<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In general, Extension Agents are expected to dress and conduct themselves in a manner that brings favor upon the agency and the Texas A&amp;M System.\u00a0 Standards vary depending on the setting and the nature of the work to be done.\u00a0\u00a0 Below are general guidelines for dress and should be applied to the situation.\u00a0 Dress at the county office should be business casual.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Business Professional <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>For Men <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business suit with collared shirt<\/li>\n<li>Nice slacks or pressed khaki pants with collared shirt<\/li>\n<li>Sports coat or jacket &amp; tie (can always be removed)<\/li>\n<li>Leather shoes\/boots with matching belt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>For Women <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Business suit or dress<\/li>\n<li>Slacks or mid-length skirt with blazer or jacket and blouse<\/li>\n<li>Leather flats, low\u2010heeled shoes or dressy boots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Business Casual Attire <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>For Men <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nice slacks or pressed khaki pants<\/li>\n<li>Collared shirt or polo\/golf shirt<\/li>\n<li>Sports Jacket<\/li>\n<li>Leather shoes\/boots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>For Women <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nice slacks, pressed khaki pants or mid-length skirt<\/li>\n<li>blazer or jacket and blouse, or sweater set<\/li>\n<li>Leather flats, low\u2010heeled shoes or dressy boots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Casual Attire <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>For Men <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pressed khaki pants or clean, pressed jeans<\/li>\n<li>Collared shirt or polo\/golf shirt<\/li>\n<li>Casual shoes or boots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>For Women <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cotton pants or clean, pressed jeans, capri pants<\/li>\n<li>Cotton blouse, collared shirt or polo\/golf shirt<\/li>\n<li>Casual shoes or boots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Camp Casual Attire (Adapted from University of Kentucky Extension)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>This level is very relaxed and not a typical, acceptable category of dress for the workplace.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There are occasional Extension work environments that would find this dress acceptable, such<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>as 4-H Camps.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>For Men<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jeans, shorts (below thigh)<\/li>\n<li>Collared shirt or polo\/golf shirt, organizational\/university t-shirts<\/li>\n<li>Athletic shoes, sandals, flip-flops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>For Women<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jeans, shorts (below thigh), capris<\/li>\n<li>Cotton blouse, collared shirt or polo\/golf shirt, organizational\/university t-shirts<\/li>\n<li>Athletic shoes, sandals, flip-flops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>A few thoughts on dress (taken directly from employee handbook): <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dress one notch better than your audience.<\/li>\n<li>There is no good reason for wearing shabby, torn, soiled, out\u2010of\u2010date, or untidy clothes.<\/li>\n<li>Nice, comfortable, and professional looking clothes are generally not any more expensive than the kind that doesn\u2019t project a professional appearance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>District 3 Expectations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For all <strong><u>indoor contests<\/u><\/strong> in which parents, volunteers and\/or 4-Her\u2019s are present, business professional dress is required.<\/p>\n<p>An exception to this rule: for contests held in a show barn with no heat\/air conditioning, business casual dress is allowed<\/p>\n<p>For all <strong><u>outdoor contests<\/u><\/strong> involving live animals or shooting sports, casual dress is allowed.<\/p>\n<p>For all <strong><u>district meetings<\/u><\/strong>, professional dress is required.<\/p>\n<p>If there is a special situation, in which this policy needs to be adjusted, an email will be sent beforehand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>District 3 Expectations for Dress &amp; Conduct In general, Extension Agents are expected to dress and conduct themselves in a manner that brings favor upon the agency and the Texas A&amp;M System.\u00a0 Standards vary depending on the setting and the nature of the work to be done.\u00a0\u00a0 Below are general guidelines for dress and should be applied to the situation.\u00a0 Dress at the county office should be business casual.
