  • Graduate Assessment Data-Presented latest drafts of Faculty Assessment Learning form (approved by GPC) and Student Self Evaluation form (GPC recommended changes). Final drafts are forthcoming.

 

  • Certificates offered at a distance (See IARM screenshot)-We encouraged departments to proactively request approval to teach certificate programs at a distance.  As more courses become available online, there is a risk of students taking most of the credits toward a certificate online and then failing to receive the certificate credential because a certificate program is not approved via distance education.  The process for requesting distance approval requires only a program edit in CARS.  If a certificate program is 15 credit hours or less, all approvals happen at TAMU and no approval is necessary through THECB.

WFSC Isasi-Catala, Emiliana-TABLED  Exact position title and clarification on appointment needed for nominee.Committee voted to change the requirements for the college letter template to included proof of non-TAMU nominee’s current participation on a graduate faculty committee. An email to Dawn Kerstetter is sufficient with documentation from the nominee’s university.

 

  • GRADUATE OPERATION COMMITTEE ITEMS
  1. FY19 Merit Fellowship Guidelines-College Merit Fellowship guidelines/criteria will match OGAPS guidelines. College Excellence and Merit Fellowships call was sent January 22. Deadline for submission to college is February 16. 

 

  • MISCELLANEOUS
    1. OGAPS GPC Poll-GPC poll regarding graduate program questions from OGAPS was completed and sent to OGAPS.
