{"id":550,"date":"2019-05-15T12:18:06","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T17:18:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/capital4-h-new\/?page_id=550"},"modified":"2023-02-21T10:18:29","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T16:18:29","slug":"team-leader-positions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/agrilife.org\/capital4-h-new\/team-leader-positions\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Lead Positions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Full-time AmeriCorps Team Leads serve as Instructors for our 4-H CAPITAL Science Clubs but have additional responsibilities in terms of member support, team development, professional tasks, and networking. There is one Team Leader for each of our four curriculum areas.<\/p>\n<p>Team Leads will be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Teach:<\/strong> Lead afterschool Science Clubs 1 or more days a week; in June, lead summer-camp classes. Serve as a guest speaker or substitute Instructor when needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Plan:<\/strong> Develop lessons and unit plans for classes. Help develop innovative curriculum.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support Team Members: <\/strong>Be a resource for fellow Instructors and assist with project and activity preparation. Hold regular team meetings and encourage team-building. Share member needs with specialists and other staff.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Perform and model office responsibilities:<\/strong> Enter monthly data and maintain records. Provide professional communication. Attend weekly meetings and trainings. Create and organize resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborate:<\/strong> Work closely with staff to plan and complete projects. Encourage collaboration between curriculum areas. Work with other team leaders to guide members. Connect with community partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commit to a term of service from mid-August until the end of June<\/li>\n<li>Serve a total of 1700 hours (40-42.5 hours a week)<\/li>\n<li>Typical hours are Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm.<\/li>\n<li>Have reliable transportation and driver\u2019s license for travel to school sites<\/li>\n<li>Must consent to a criminal history background check<\/li>\n<li>Have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Have experience working with youth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Earn a living stipend, paid twice monthly. Rate is higher than regular Instructor position.<\/li>\n<li>Gain additional professional experience<\/li>\n<li>Earn an education award after successful completion of\u00a0your term<\/li>\n<li>Student loans may qualify for forbearance during your term of service<\/li>\n<li>Health insurance and childcare assistance is\u00a0provided<\/li>\n<li>All training in science curriculum and youth development is provided<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All applicants apply first to be one of our science superheroes &#8212; an AmeriCorps Instructor!
