The Brazoria County 4-H Horse Project<\/strong><\/span> is open to all of age 4-H members, and provides many opportunities for youth to learn about, work with, and exhibit equine. There is something for every age group and skill level with the opportunity of advancement or achievement always available thru such events as: Horse Shows, Drill Team, Horse Quiz Bowl, Hippology, and Horse Judging.<\/p>\n

Horse Judging
\n<\/span><\/b>All 4-H members are encouraged to learn how to evaluate horses. Judging knowledge provides the foundation for training, showing, buying, selling, and producing quality horses. This knowledge establishes the basis for the development of qualified horse show judges. Judging promotes decision-making, justification of thoughts, self-confidence, and public speaking.<\/p>\n

Horse Quiz Bowl
\n<\/span><\/b>The quiz bowl contests provide an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H projects to demonstrate their knowledge in a competitive setting where attitudes of friendliness, cooperation, and fairness prevail. Horse Bowl challenges 4-H\u2019ers to learn about breeds, anatomy, nutrition, diseases, tack, and much more!<\/p>\n

Brazoria County 4-H Horse Quiz Bowl Team Info<\/a><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hippology
\n<\/span><\/b>The Hippology contest provides youth with the opportunity to blend the knowledge and skills acquired in horse judging, horse bowl, demonstrations, public speaking, showing and practical horse experience into one activity. It encourages 4-H members to expand their knowledge and comprehension of equine science, comprehensive knowledge of the horse industry, and management practices. 4-H Horse Point Show Dates for 2025-2026<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n

January 24, 2026 – First Point Show
\nFebruary 21, 2026 – Second Point Show<\/p>\n

May 9, 2026 – Third Point Show – Sponsorship money is due (Minimum $125)<\/p>\n

*All shows will be held at the Brazoria County Fairgrounds*<\/p>\n
