Join us for the 2025 4-H Horticulture Ambassador Short Course to become a Brazoria County 4-H Horticulture Ambassador!
The Horticulture Ambassador Program will equip youth ambassadors with horticulture knowledge, covering topics such as plant care, soil health, sustainable gardening, and the benefits of native plants. Through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations, participants will gain the skills and confidence to teach and advocate for horticulture within their communities.

REQUIRED ATTENDANCE to the Horticulture Ambassador Short Course.
- Date: Monday, November 24, 2025
- Time: 9 am – 4 pm
- Location: BEES Demonstration Garden, 583 Hospital Road, Angleton, Texas 77515
- Ages: 9th – 12th Grades
- $50 (price includes supplies, polos, meals)
- 12 ambassadors will be chosen and notified by October 24th.
SERVICE HOURS REQUIREMENT
To earn the title of 4-H Horticulture Ambassador, each attendee must complete a minimum of 25 horticulture-related service hours after the short course. These hours give students the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned, serve their community, and promote horticulture education.
Service hours must be met by July 15, 2025 to:
- Receive completion certificate for the year.
- Be eligible to return as a Horticulture Ambassador the following year.
If service hours are not met by July 15, 2025:
- Completion certificate will not be given.
- Must re-apply for Horticulture Ambassador program for the following year if you choose.
Approved service opportunities include (but are not limited to):
- 1 class requirement
- Working in the Demonstration Gardens at BEES with a Master Gardener or Horticulture Agent during Open Garden Days
- Assisting at the Fruit and Citrus Tree Sale and/or the Spring Plant Sale
- Maintaining the raised beds at the AgriLife Extension office
- Helping at educational outreach programs organized by the Horticulture Agent
- Other approved horticulture-related volunteer work
