It is pecan time again! The first order (October 2nd) will arrive in time for Thanksgiving baking and the second order (November 6th) will arrive in time for Christmas gift giving. They are yummy! Each member that has $1,000 in sales will receive a 4-H jacket.

Brazoria AgriLife’s annual Ag Awareness day will be October 31st and November 1st

Intermediate and Senior 4-H volunteers (4-H Parents are welcome too!) are needed to help make this event a success.

If you would like to volunteer your time to teach 4th grade student from Alvin,  Columbia –Brazoria, Danbury, Damon, and  Sweeny schools about the importance of agriculture in our lives then email or call the office at 979.864.1558.

Quality Counts verification is required for all major show exhibitors. There is a different test for each age division, so you must take the test  when you switch age divisions

Junior: 3rd thru 5thgrades

Intermediates: 6th thru 8th grades

Seniors :9th thru 12th grades

Major Show entries will be by appointment again this year between October 28 thru November 15.

Major Show Swine Validation Orders are due September 27th

$15 per barrow or gilt

All barrows must be validated to show at the Spring 2020 major shows

Unfortunately for Brazoria County 4-H, the Texas 4-H One Day falls during our county fair on October 12th. Since a good number of our members will be busy, busy, busy, we will have our One Day 4-H event on November 16, 2019. All willing members are needed to lend hand!

The deadline has passed for major show lamb and goat validation, however, orders can still be placed. Call the 4-H office soon!

Adults can get involved too!  Judges are needed on Saturday, October 5th pm to evaluate cakes, cookies, pies, and candies.  If sweets aren’t your thing, craft judges are needed on Monday, October 7th to evaluate crafts and hobbies.
