What is 4-H?
4-H is a youth development program of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service focusing on the needs, interests, and concerns of young people. Its aim is to help youth acquire a positive self concept, rational social behavior, knowledge and problem solving capabilities. Boys and girls from 3rd grade to 12th grade regardless of social-economic level, race, color, sex, religion, handicap, national origin or geographic location may participate. The 4-H calendar year begins September 1st and concludes on August 31st of the following year. The member’s age division for the entire 4-H year will be determined as of September 1st of the 4-H year. Youth advancing grades mid-year will not be allowed to change membership divisions during that 4-H year.

From food science and robotics to fashion design and photography, not to mention livestock projects, there’s sure to be something that sparks your interest. Here is a list of projects that are currently offered in Galveston County. When you request information on a club, just let us know what projects you are interested in and we can help find which club is best for you:

How to choose your 4-H project:
– Select a project you like.
– Consider the money and time it will take.
– Consider the space and equipment that you have at home.
– A 4-H project should be fun, serve a purpose, and be worth the effort.
– Select only the number of projects you can complete. Start small and work your way up!

Youth join for $25!
September 1 thru October 31 enrollment due is $25. The remainder of the year is $30.
