BCYF Invitational Horse Judging Contest

 Location: Bell County EXPO Equine/Livestock Complex – Belton, Texas

Date: Friday, February 4, 2022

 Entry Fee: $10/contestant collected during registration

 Registration: 3:30 to 4:00 PM; Equine/Livestock Complex

Contest Begins: 4:00 PM

Contest Results and Awards: Immediately following tabulation

Horse Judging Contest Superintendent: Lana Rondeau, 254-368-5646 cell

Committee Members: Stephanie Phillips

 

The contest is open to all 4-H Clubs and FFA Chapters in Bell County. Individuals who wish to compete without a team are also welcome. Teams may consist of three or four members, with the three highest scores being used. There will be a junior division (8th grade and below), and a senior division (9th-12th grade). For junior members to qualify for High Point Awards, they should not be placed on a Senior Team. The number of teams entered per chapter/club is unlimited.

 

The Horse Judging Contest may consist of the following:

  • 6 haltered classes
  • 1 set of oral reasons for both age divisions

 

Special Rules:

There will be eight (8) minutes allowed for each class. No talking, cell phone usage, or cheating will be tolerated during the contest. Scantrons will be provided by the Bell County Youth Fair at registration.

 

 Awards will be as follows:

  • Buckles will be awarded to the high point individual in each age division, high point junior team, and high point senior team.
