The deadline to apply for 2022\u00a0LFP\u00a0assistance is Jan.\u00a030, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>To date, 225 Texas counties have met the drought severity levels that trigger LFP eligibility for the 2022 program year. Supporting documents may include information related to grazing leases, contract grower agreements, and more.<\/p>\n<p><b>More Information<\/b><\/p>\n<p>LFP is part of a<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"Protection and Recovery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.farmers.gov\/protection-recovery\">broader suite<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>of disaster assistance available through USDA.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a title=\"Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.usda.gov\/programs-and-services\/disaster-assistance-program\/emergency-assist-for-livestock-honey-bees-fish\/index\">Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honeybees, and Farm-Raised Fish Program<\/a>\u00a0(ELAP),\u00a0which also has a Jan. 30,\u00a02023, deadline,\u00a0provides eligible producers with compensation for certain feed losses not covered by LFP. ELAP also covers above normal costs associated with hauling water to livestock and transporting feed to livestock.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"ELAP Additional Assistance News Release\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.usda.gov\/state-offices\/Texas\/news-releases\/2022\/usda-to-compensate-drought-stricken-ranchers-for-above-normal-costs-to-haul-livestock-to-forage\">Additional relief is also available through ELAP<\/a><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>to help ranchers cover above normal costs of hauling livestock to forage or other grazing acres.
