(Texas A&amp;M AgriLife Extension Service photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><ins><a href=\"http:\/\/agecoext.tamu.edu\/crs\">Current and past custom rate publications<\/a><\/ins> are available.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<ins><a href=\"https:\/\/agecoext.tamu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TXCustomRatesSurvey2020.pdf\">online publication<\/a><\/ins>\u00a0is 29 pages.\u00a0Custom operations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tractor rental.<\/li>\n<li>Tillage operation.<\/li>\n<li>Planting operations.<\/li>\n<li>Application of fertilizer and chemicals.<\/li>\n<li>Cotton harvesting.<\/li>\n<li>Peanut harvesting, including hauling and drying.<\/li>\n<li>Combining and hauling grains.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Haying and silage operations.<\/li>\n<li>Land preparation, brush control.<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous livestock operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A survey was distributed to select farmers, ranchers, landowners, as well as custom operators across Texas. In addition, the survey included an online version open to the public.\u00a0\u00a0The results help establish a baseline of rates statewide to further assist with questions inquiring about custom-hire activities, Klose said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very thankful for the people who take the time to complete this survey.\u00a0\u00a0Outside of this survey, market information on specific custom work in Texas is very limited to non-existent,\u201d Klose said. \u201cThis publication provides a range of rates for different services.
