A Debtor Education Personal Financial Management Course

This 2½ hour, classroom-based course meets the legal requirement for personal finance
education for anyone who has filed Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy in the state of Texas.
The course provides practical, unbiased strategies to reduce spending, increase savings, and manage credit wisely. It will cover the following topics:

  • Developing a spending plan
  • Setting SMART financial goals
  • Cutting costs, better buying, and increasing savings
  • Using credit wisely and understanding your credit report
  • Recordkeeping and sources of unbiased information
  • Understanding interest rates and fees – the full “cost of money”

Zumba Classes

Classes begin: February 2nd and offered each Monday and Thursday; 5:30-6:30 pm at Skateworld, 108 Monterrey Drive (off of Sam Houston Street).  $15.00 per month; no cost to attend for those who qualify.  Call 575-4581 for more information and to sign up.  See attached flyer: Zumba12

Cooking Well with Diabetes

A four-class series for individuals interested in diabetes prevention and control.  Classes will be held at First United Methodist Church, Wesley Hall, 407 N.
