Hass Avocado Board
Emiliano Escobedo is the Executive Director for the Hass Avocado Board. The Hass Avocado Board (HAB) is an agriculture promotion group established in 2002 to promote the consumption of Hass Avocados in the United States. A 12-member board representing domestic producers and importers of Hass Avocados directs HAB’s promotion, research and information programs under supervision of the United States Department of Agriculture. Funding for HAB comes from Hass avocado producers and importers in the United States.
Prior to his current position, he was Director of Global Marketing and U. S. Operations for the Avocado Producer and Exporting Packers Association of Michoacán (APEAM), the largest avocado producer and exporter association in the world.
In 2013 Emiliano was recognized by Vance Publishing as one of the 40 under 40 in agriculture for his leadership and commitment in advancing the cause to double food production by 2050. In 2010, he was recognized by The Packer Newspaper as one of the 25 leaders in the fresh produce industry. Emiliano is tri-lingual, and a graduate from the University of Florida. He currently lives in Orange County, California with his family.
