Tarrant county livestock production excels in being a very diverse and economically profitable business. Ranging from dairy and beef cattle, to sheep, goats, hogs and horses, the total livestock receipts equal approximately $16,642,000 in Tarrant County. Beef breeding cattle, fed beef, beef calves, stocker cattle, and slaughter cattle account for over $5 million of that total. With a large sector of employment coming from Tarrant County agriculture, the important role it plays in today’s economy is seen on a daily basis.
