As we know, the parking policy for the surface lot adjacent to our office has gone through multiple revisions over the past few months. The latest change will be very helpful for 4-H volunteers and program participants. Validations are now available for 4-H volunteers who are working in a volunteer capacity as well as participants of 4-H programs that are offered free of charge. However, there are some logistical requirements (and some restrictions) For evening and weekend programs, I will need to know the number of vehicles requiring validations the DAY PRIOR to the event. (Validation tickets are locked up after hours and not accessible for unexpected requests.) Therefore, if you will need validation for meetings or events after hours, it is very important that you send an email request the day before the event. Please send the email to BOTH: NFSwindle@ag.tamu.edu and to CPBryant@ ag.tamu.edu .
PLEASE NOTE: Validations will NOT apply to individuals dropping off family entries or picking up materials or checks for family members only. Volunteers who are dropping off entries or picking up materials for more than one family would be working in a volunteer capacity, and would be eligible for validation. For example, during record book season, it would be helpful if families could work together regarding the drop off at the Extension office.
If possible, it would be helpful to have one person drop off books for multiple families (saves validations and gasoline).
Reason – Extension receives a specific number of allowable validations per month, and all departments are asked to use them wisely.
