Tarrant County 4-H strives to serve the youth of Tarrant County. The 4-H community club program offers a wide variety of activities for youth. 4-H members take part in monthly meetings and explore their individual interests though projects. Club meetings are usually held beginning in September and ending in May, however, some clubs do have meetings throughout the summer. 4-H members can participate in project events at the county level and advance to compete at the district or state level. Educational opportunities are developed on the model of learning by doing and 4-Her’s can chose from a multitude of topics.
4-H Membership Requirements
4-H is for kids of most ages, from Kindergarten,1st and 2nd grade for our Clover kids, or in the 3rd grade up to age 19 you can be in the regular 4-H activities. Parents and grandparents don’t have to join, but if they want to be leaders they will have to join as a leader volunteer. For others who just want to help, there is plenty to do and we are the ones to help you find a function you can enjoy and will help the group. The 4-H program is a voluntary, non-formal educational program offered to youth regardless of race, color, national origin, residence or handicap. Check with the Extension Office about a club in your area. There are clubs that focus on particular activities, so be sure to ask. For more details and information about the Tarrant County 4-H programs, call the extension office at 817-884-1291.
