Fish and Aquaculture

Fish in a basketTexas A&M AgriLife Research is heavily involved in the study of aquaculture, mariculture and recreation. By focusing on ecology, management, and conservation biology, our faculty is dedicated to the discovery and dissemination of knowledge in conservation of biodiversity, natural resource management, and the sustainable use of natural resources. An overarching goal of our research is to facilitate the sustainability of the earth’s biota and the ecosystems  they depend on while accommodating  human health and welfare. Our multidisciplinary approach uses interdepartmental collaboration and outreach to agencies, nonprofit organizations, and public and private interests over a wide range of natural resource topics, including environmental quality and sustainability,  management of natural resources, and bioinformatics and biocomplexity.
