2011 District 8 Holiday Classic
The Holiday Classic Clinics and Prospect Shows are intended to provide an educational opportunity for new families (4-H & FFA) participating in the livestock project area. The main purpose is to teach the basic principles of livestock management as they relate to facility maintenance, selection, nutrition, animal health, handling, showmanship, and transportation. The End of an Era?
In Central Texas we have had a relief from the blistering 100 degree days for a short time as a cold front blew through our area but no rainfall came with the cooler weather. The cooler temperatures were enjoyable and we still have cool morning but afternoon temps are back in the 90’s to 100 degrees. The only answer to the drought is a big rainfall event. Heart O’ Texas Hay Show
The Annual Heart O’ Texas Hay Show will be held at the Robinson High School Cafeteria on September 29, 2011. We will begin with a chili supper at 6 pm with the program following. Topics: Farm Service Agency Programs, What you need to know before you visit an Ag lender, Hedging and risk associated with stocker/feeder cattle, and Drought Insurance.
