Veterinary Science project members will use Dr. Faries curriculum, Veterinary Science: Preparatory Training for the Veterinary Assistant – each student is responsible for purchasing their own workbook. This will be a five-year project in which students will complete the lessons in the workbook, complete group activities, have the opportunity to attend live web conferences with Dr. Faries, and volunteer at a veterinary clinic. To complete the curriculum, members must complete 100 lessons, 50 activities, and 500 – 1500 work hours at a veterinary clinic. Students who complete the curriculum will receive the title of Veterinary Assistant and will have the opportunity to pursue the title of Certified Veterinary Assistant on their own. Each lesson has an online lecture given by Dr. Faries.
