Shooting Sports

Available shooting sport projects include shotgun, rifle, archery, and pistol.

Shotgun

This project will be taught by Jeff Irvin.
Shotgun Shooting Sport project members will learn how to safely handle and operate a shotgun. They will prepare for the District 4 Competition which will take place in Paris, TX, in April or May.

Archery

This project will be led by Linda and Carol Brinlee.
This project will cover the basics the archery, including safety and shooting. After the safety meeting, feel free to bring your own bows and arrows. Feel free to bring lawn chairs, drinks, and snacks.

All meetings will take place outside and may be cancelled due to bad weather, please call to verify.

Rifle

This project will be taught by Mr. Troutz.
Fannin County 4-H Rifle project members will work with rifles to improve their shooting skills in a safe environment. Parents/Guardians must attend with their children. Feel free to bring your own unloaded rifles (must be .22 caliber).

  • Safety rules will be reviewed at each meeting.
  • Everyone must bring their own safety equiptment (eye & ear protection)
  • Signed liability release forms must be turned in (if you have not done so)
  • Please dress for the weather
  • Bring lawn chairs, snacks, and water for your family
