The County Awards Recognition Program is an opportunity to recognize 4-H members who are active and participate in projects and activities in their clubs, community, County and District. All Fannin County 4-H members are eligible to apply for these awards.
Applications are being accepted for County Recognition Awards and are due in the Extension office by July 20. Each level of awards must be documented with the appropriate form. Application forms are available at the Extension office or from your club manager. An interview is part of the verification process. All applicants completing the required criteria will receive the award, with the exception of Danforth and Gold Star. Only one Danforth Leadership Award will be given and only two Gold Star Awards will be given.
Requirements for each award are:
Rookie (first year 4-H member of any age)
* Complete 1 project
* Complete project record form, Record Book, or Memory Book
* Give demonstration, talk, report or prepare exhibit on project
* Attend 2/3 of club meetings
* Participate in 4-H community service project
Honor Roll (3rd grade – 10 years of age)-to be completed within 1-3 years
* All of Rookie requirements
* Additional criteria include two of the following:
-Serve on club or County committee
-Participate in County or District level event
-Bring parent to 50% of club meetings
-Participate in Promote 4-H Week
All Star (11 – 13 years of age)-to be completed within 3 years
* Complete 2 projects
* Complete project Record Book or Memory Book
* Give demonstration, talk, report or prepare exhibit for 2 projects
* Attend 2/3 of club meetings
* Participate in Promote 4-H activity
* Additional criteria include 7 of the following;
-Bring parent to 50% of club meetings
-Serve on committee or elected officer
-Participate in County level competition
-Recruit one or more members
-Participate in 2 county wide activities
-Assist with leadership of County wide event or activity
-Represent the County at District or State event or activity
-Participate in one 4-H community service project
-Assist project leaders or club officers with 5 activities
Letterman (14 years and older)-to be completed within 3 years
* Complete 3 projects
* Turn in a complete Awards Program Recordbook
* Serve as a junior or teen leader
* Attend 2/3 of club meetings
* Organize a 4-H community service project
* Give demonstration, talk, or prepare exhibit on 2 projects
* Assist in planning/organizing Promote 4-H activity
* Additional criteria include 6 of the following 9
-Serve as chair or elected officer
-Serve as County officer, delegate or committee chair
-Assist in leadership of County wide 4-H activity
-Present training or demonstration to a 4-H group
-Attend 4-H training at County, District, or State level
-Compete in District or State level
-Represent 4-H to other groups
-Utilize a minimum of 3 resources found outside of Fannin County for project
-Recruit 2 or more new members
