4-H Food Show

The District 12 4-H Food Show is held each Fall as an opportunity for 4-H members from across the district to demonstrate their knowledge and skills related to food and nutrition.  The event focuses on 4-H members’ ability to properly prepare a dish in one of four different categories, present orally the nutritional value and preparation techniques to a panel of judges, and demonstrate food safety and proper food handling and storage techniques.

4-H Food Show Judges Training Videos

The following videos are intended to support and assist 4-H volunteers serving as judges for the District 12 4-H Food Show.  They may also be helpful for 4-H food and nutrition leaders and 4-H members participating in the food show.

4-H Food Show Judges Orientation

This is a collection of two videos to help prepare volunteers to serve as judges at the 4-H Food Show. There is one for the Senior 4-H division, and one for the Junior/Intermediate age divisions. Watch one or both to help learn some basic information on what to look for and how to judge.
