Texas Community Watershed Partners (TCWP) is a Texas A&M Program, administered by the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Our projects at TCWP focus on providing communities with the knowledge and tools to sustain their neighborhoods and landscapes. We are located in Houston’s Clear Lake area. Steven Mikulencak is an Extension Program Specialist and AICP planner for Texas Community Watershed Partners since 2010. His work specializes in facilitation and planning support tools for local decision-makers. He has worked in the private sector on comprehensive plans, zoning, design guidelines, and GIS analyses for local governments. He now develops planning and outreach programs for Texas communities using GIS and other mapping tools. He is project manager for CHARM, Texas Citizen Planner, the Highland Bayou Watershed Protection Plan, and was the lead facilitator for the 2014 TX RESTORE Roundtables. Projects are grant supported through partnership with the National Sea Grant Office, FEMA Region 6, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the US EPA Gulf of Mexico Program, and the Galveston Bay Estuary Program. He earned his degrees in Geology from Virginia Tech and his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Cornell University.

Amanda Ashcroft is a Resiliency Program Coordinator at the Texas Community Watershed Partners. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University at Galveston where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Ocean and Coastal Resources. Amanda interned with TCWP for 2.5 years while completing her Masters degree in Marine Resources Management. Amanda joined the TCWP full time in February 2016 where she works with the planning team conducting outreach and facilitating Community Health and Resource Management (CHARM) workshops. Amanda also helps to facilitate planning exercises, conduct hazard mitigation and comprehensive plan reviews, and serves as the lead for the Texas Citizen Planner Program.
