Montgomery County 4-H will be hosting a dog show on February 2, 2013 in Conroe.
We are excited about the dog project activities that are coming up this year. One of the biggest is the Texas 4-H Dog Show in July.
However the first step is to Certify the active dog projects on 4-H CONNECT. Attached, you will find instructions for the Texas 4-H Dog Project Certification form and the certification form. This process is required if you will be participating in the 2013 Texas 4-H Dog Show, July 12-14 in Conroe, Texas. If you are not sure, go ahead and certify any dog(s) you might be eligible to show. This will allow you to postpone your decision until April/May when registration for the Dog Show opens.
As you follow the instructions please note on #8. It requests Breed twice. The first one has a pull down menu and should actually say Group. This refers to your AKC or Non-Purebred Group. If you are unfamiliar with this, refer to the Certification Form that is also attached. The second page has some examples.
This certification is due by January 10, 2013. Please start the process early in case you have computer difficulty and to allow for the holidays. If you call your County Extension Office at the last minute, the person who helps with 4-H CONNECT may be out of the office. We have put a safety net in place. If you have made your best effort to complete the 4-H CONNECT certification and are unsuccessful, you can turn in a hard copy of the Dog Project Certification Form to your County Extension Office by January 10th and still meet the deadline. If you are successful with the 4-H CONNECT certification, the hard copy is not required.
Attached, you will find the Montgomery County Dog Show Registration form.
