Texas Community Futures Forum Results
Recently, we completed the Texas Community Futures Forum (TCFF) process for Bandera County. In short, the process is designed to bring together community leaders and identify/discuss key issues facing the county in the next 3-5 years as it relates to four areas – Agriculture and Natural Resources, Human Sciences, Community and Economic Development and Youth. Thanks to the individuals that volunteered to assist with the process as well as those who led small group discussions. Key issues identified include:
Agriculture/Natural Resources:
Educate Youth in Agriculture, Educate Urban Landowners, Water Catchment (Public/Commercial), Planning for Smart Growth and Development
Human Sciences:
Transportation, Young Adult and Teen Employment
Community and Economic Development:
Water, Limited Activities for Residents and Tourists, High Cost of Doing Business in Bandera, Disconnect Between Bandera and other Communities
Youth:
Mentor Program, Parenting with Follow up, Life Skills Outreach, Job Skills
