The Academy for Ranch Management (ARM) is dedicated to providing a quality learning environment for ranchers, new ranch or land owners, and for those who are several generations away from the ranch. ARM provides easy to understand instruction in an outdoor hands-on learning environment at one of the premier research stations in the world.

Dr. Charles A. “Butch” Taylor, ARM director encourages you to look over this web site and if you would like to have more information or would like to sign up for one of our courses, please fill out the form on this site, or email Ray Hinnant at:

Mission: The Academy for Ranch Management seeks to provide an ecologically based land management learning experience for ranch owners and managers. We emphasize progressive management education to restore, monitor, and manage the rangeland resource. We teach in an outdoor laboratory with approximately 100 years of management history. We encourage participants to formulate their own ideas based on what they observe. A unique learning experience is available for those landowners and managers who want to leave their ranch “in better shape than when they acquired it”.
