Recent Dispute Regarding Ownership of Surface Water and of Streambed in Kimble County

I was recently informed of a dispute in Kimble County between TCEQ and a local landowner.  Landowner rights and the current water law are areas with significant interest within the agricultural community.  Agents may be asked to respond to various situations or disputes.  Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is an educational agency that cannot respond as a regulatory agency or advocate for either side in a dispute.  Educational programs for landowners may be appropriate to enhance awareness of current law. Dr. Tiffany Dowell, AgriLife Extension Ag Law Specialist, is an excellent resource for agents and landowners.  Dr. Dowell addressed the Kimble County dispute in her recent blog article. The blog site is below.
