*WNND = West Nile Neuroinvasive Disease is the more severe form the disease cause by the West Nile virus which incorporates the central nervous system (West Nile meningitis, West Nile encephalitis, and West Nile meningoencephalitis).
*WNF = West Nile Fever is the form of the disease cause by the West Nile virus that shows no evidence of neuroinvasion.
* West Nile virus can be isolated from a number of different animal hosts. These positive cases are placed in the “other” category.
